Q: Can you create a meal plan for me?

A: No, I don’t create meal plans for individuals. One thing I highly recommend getting is the Club Membership, which does create custom meal plans for you. To learn more about the benefits of the Club Membership, click here.

Q: Do you know of any healthy meal replacements?

A: Yes! I have been using Shakeology as a meal replacement for lunch since February of 2010, and have seen amazing results from it. I lost 12lbs in two months! It’s by far the best supplement that I have used, and one that I recommend to everyone I come in contact with. To learn more about Shakeology, click here.

Q: Did you follow the Nutrition Guide?

A: Yes, I followed the Nutrition Guide just as my fiance followed it. We followed the Meal Plan approach, but instead of eating the foods that were listed, we substituted them with healthy alternatives that had the same nutritional value. It’s very important that you follow the proper fat/carb/protein % for each phase in the Nutrition Guide. It’s 20/30/50 for phase 1, 20/40/40 for phase 2, and 20/50/30 for phase 3. In order to keep track of everything, we logged everything we ate into, which is something that I highly recommend that you do as well!

Q: Is it really that important to follow the diet?

A: Yes, the diet is the most important part of the program! My fiance and I tell all of the people that we coach that results come from 80% diet and 20% workouts! If you want excellent results, you must commit to the diet.

Q: Do you have any sample diets posted?

A: I don’t have any sample diets posted as of yet, but Coach Josh does have an 1,800 cal, Fat Shredder sample diet posted on his site. You can view it by clicking here. I will get a woman’s 1,200 cal Fat Shredder sample diet posted soon.

Q: Can you show me a list of foods that you eat?

A: My complete grocery list is actually located in the “My Diet” section of this site.

Q: The amount of calories that the Nutrition Guide recommends is too much! Is it going to hurt to go to a lower amount?

A: If your main goal is to lose weight, you will need to lower the amount of calories that are recommended in the Nutrition Guide. For example, I was supposed to take in around 1,800 cals and Josh was supposed to take in 2,700 cals during round 1, but I stuck with about 1,200 cals and he stuck with about 2,000 cals per day. If you email me your height and weight, along with your goal of either losing weight or gaining mass, I will tell you how many calories to take in.

Q: I feel like I have no energy throughout the day. What should I do?

A: When you start to feel like your energy levels have been dropping, you need to increase the amount of carbs to take in. For example, if you decide to follow the Fat Shredder phase for 2 months, and start to become low on energy, switch to Phase 2, which has higher carbs.

Q: I lost my Nutrition Guide. Do you know if I can purchase a new one from Beachbody?

A: If you purchased the P90X program from a coach or from the main Beachbody site, then you should be able to contact Beachbody Customer Service and purchase a new one. If you purchased the program through a 3rd party site and didn’t receive the Nutrition Guide, then you will not be able to purchase it.

Q: I’m really skinny and want to gain mass. Is P90X still going to work for me?

A: Yes, you can gain mass with P90X. You will just have to make some adjustments to both the workouts and the diet, and you can learn more about how to do so on Josh’s website

Q: I’m a woman and worried about getting too muscular with P90X? Should this be a concern?

A: Not at all! I’m a woman and started the program at 130lbs and ended up losing 17lbs and 10% body fat after 1 round. I followed the Classic version, which is a balance of cardio and resistance training, and used light weights. I got very toned, and didn’t get muscular at all. I’ve been doing P90X for almost 10 months now, and am currently down to 102lbs.

Q: Is it OK to workout on an empty stomach in the morning?

A: There is nothing wrong with working out on an empty stomach in the morning. If you would decide to eat something before the workout, you would have to wait an hour for the food to digest. The most important time to eat is after the workout. I recommend taking the Recovery Formula, and then eating breakfast afterwards. You can have a whey protein shake as a mid-morning snack.

Q: Can I drink alcohol whole doing P90X, Insanity, or any other Beachbody program?

A: It’s obviously better to stay away from any alcohol while doing P90X, but if you do decide to have a few drinks, make sure it’s a light drink such as Rum and Diet Coke or Select 55.

Q: Is it OK to drink coffee?

A: There is nothing wrong with drinking coffee, just as long as you use artificial sweetener and a sugar free creamer. We drink coffee every morning and mix it with Splenda and Coffeemate Sugar Free Hazelnut creamer.

Q: Is it OK to have a cheat meal?

A: If you’re just starting the program, then I recommend not cheating on your diet. One day of cheating can easily set you back a week. Josh and I will have maybe one cheat meal a month, but that’s only because we are both in excellent shape and can do so without it affecting us too much.

Q: Can I stay on Phase 1 of the Nutrition Guide for longer than a month?

A: Yes! Both my fiance and I followed the Fat Shredder Phase for most of our first round of P90X.

Q: I’m getting tired of eating the same foods! Do you have any good recipes?

A: I have a ton of great recipes, and will post them in the blog section of this site from time to time.
